Hidden Compartment Jewelry Box

I created this Jewelry Box as a gift for my cousin’s wedding. This style of box is called a bandsaw box because the primary construction method starts with a large block of wood that is then sliced up using a bandsaw and glued back together. This particular box is made from a block of laminated maple and mahogany, and has a secret compartment hidden behind the moulding underneath the bottom drawer.

The video I created for this project was also the first of mine to receive significant viewing and recognition within the maker community. That and the fun of giving the box to someone I loved make this one of my favorite woodworking projects to date.
